Process Map Primer

All companies today are trying to be as effective and efficient as possible.  In order to do this they are introducing many new programs such as lean, six sigma, TQM and others.  One of the things that must be kept in mind is that it is not the program that is valuable, it is the tools in the program.  Process Mapping is a tool that is found in most of the various programs.  The reason for this is that in order to fully understand and optimize a process you must map it.  The process map is a visual documentation of a process and often just making the map will point to areas of potential enhancement.  There are many different types of maps possible and during this workshop we will walk through several of them all mapping the same process in order to better understand the strengths and weaknesses of the various types.
